Austin Homan is in his third year as Athletics Superintendent with the City of Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department, a position he began in the fall of 2015. Austin joined the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department in the spring of 2014 as an Assistant Athletic Director.
In his current role as Athletics Superintendent, he leads a team of 12 full-time and approximately 60+ part-time athletics staff in providing athletic programming, facilities, and services for the residents and visitors to the city of Greensboro. The Athletics Section offers various youth and adult sports, and manages various athletic facilities including the Greensboro Sportsplex, Simkins Indoor Sports Pavilion, Spencer Love Tennis Center, Carolyn Allen Park, Gillespie Golf Course, and Latham Skate Park.
Prior to coming to the City of Greensboro, Austin was the Director of Baseball Operations at East Carolina University where he was responsible for home game operations, team travel arrangements, community service and outreach opportunities, and baseball camps.
A native of State College, Pa., Austin holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Fitness Specialist, and a master’s degree in Recreation and Parks Administration, with a Sports Management concentration, both from East Carolina University. He and his wife Brittany have two children, Emerson and Carson.
Austin serves on the GUSA board as an ex-officio member representing the City of Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department.
