Game Day Timeline
DEVELOPMENTAL COMBINES
Included with every player’s registration, the program features a developmental combine led by local high school coaches. Our goal is whole-athlete growth beyond just competitive play, especially focused on teaching the fundamentals to players who have never played flag football before.
What to Expect:
- One Session: Saturday, June 27 (9:30 AM - 11:30 AM) at Truist Sports Park.
- Expert Coaching: Led by local HS coaches & Gridiron Girlz Staff.
- Comprehensive Format: Position-specific drills, team concepts, film review, and Q&A over 2 hours.
- Inclusive: Open to all registered players across Varsity & JV divisions at your designated home park.

Quarterbacks
Stance, drop, throwing motion, reading the defense.
Route Running
Timing, precision, separation techniques.
Receivers
Hands, body positioning, concentration fundamentals.
Defense
Flag-pulling technique, coverage principles, rush lanes.
Offensive Line
Legal screening position and blocking footwork.
Strategy
Flag-specific rules, formations, motions, situational awareness.
EQUIPMENT & GEAR
Provided by Fusion
NC Fusion supplies all necessary flags and jerseys for games.
Required Wear
Players MUST wear mouth guards. Shorts must have NO pockets for safety reasons.
Approved Footwear
Running shoes, turf shoes, or molded cleats (NO metal studs allowed on the turf).

This league operates under a Zero Tolerance Policy regarding inappropriate behavior.
Player Code
- Invest in Development: Give full attention, attend ready to work, and be punctual.
- Sweep the Sheds: Be humble. Never be too big to do the small things.
- Care Deeply: Respect everyone. Be gracious in defeat, humble in victory, and shake hands.
- Communicate Well & Be Accountable: Speak with honesty, advise coaches of injuries, respect facilities, and accept officials' decisions.
- REFRAIN FROM: Foul language, bullying, harmful social media use, and distracting others.
Parent & Spectator Code
- Model shared values and encourage positively.
- Prioritize player growth over winning.
- Prohibited: Unauthorized field entry.
- Prohibited: Abusive language or harassment of officials.
Coach & Team Rep Code
- Prepare for all games and communicates schedules clearly.
