Player Code of Conduct

NC Fusion exists to provide experiences through sport that positively impact players, families, and staff for life. To do so, we strive to create a culture committed to empowering our players and the wider community we serve through continually improving all that we do. To accomplish this our players are expected to do the following.

 

 

As a player participating in club activities, I will Commit to always:

 

INVEST IN MY DEVELOPMENT

·       Give my full attention to my coaches to receive instruction

·       Attend training sessions and games with the intent to work hard, do my best, play fair, improve my skills and   knowledge of the game,

        and have fun

·       Ensure I am punctual for training, matches and any other club activity

 

SWEEP THE SHEDS

·       Be humble

·       Never be too big to do the small things that need to be done

 

CARE DEEPLY

·       Respect my teammates, coaches, game officials, opponents, staff, and volunteers

·       Be gracious in defeat and humble in victory

·       Shake hands with the other team and the referee at the end of a match

·       Show empathy, inclusivity, and kindness to all

 

COMMUNICATE WELL

·       Speak and act with honesty and integrity

·       Advise the coach if I am unavailable to play or participate in club activities

·       Speak directly to the coach if I have questions or concerns about training or games

·       Advise the coach of any injury or medical condition sustained before or during club activities

 

BE ACCOUNTABLE

·       Respect and care for the property, equipment and facilities belonging to other players, the club or opponents 

·       Honor my commitment to the team for the full year

·       Accept the decisions made by match officials

·       Play fairly and respect the rules of the game

·       Report inappropriate behavior

·       Be responsible for my own uniform, ball, footwear, shin pads, water

 

As a player participating in club activities, I will Refrain from:

·       Distracting others from giving their full attention to the coach

·       Behaving in ways that bring myself or the club into disrepute

·       Using foul, abusive, racial, or discriminatory language

·       Using bullying behavior or the persistent use of rough and dangerous play

·       Engaging in inappropriate use of social media – this includes posting comments or images on social media sites that may cause harm     

        to others or bring the club into disrepute

 

Players participating in NC Fusion programs have the right to:

·       feel safe and protected

·       be respected and listened to

·       contribute by offering constructive comments / feed back

·       enjoy sport in a protective environment

·       be protected from inappropriate behavior/abuse from staff and volunteers

 

I understand the consequences if I fail to stand by the commitments and expectations noted above can result in any or all the following: disciplinary action by NC Fusion which may result in the temporary or permanent suspension of my attendance at NC Fusion events, and/or be subject to action by the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association or other sanctioning body Discipline and Appeal procedures.
