Coach Code of Conduct

As an NC Fusion Coach, I recognize my responsibility to provide instruction and guidance which

channels the individual efforts of players and parents into an extraordinary team experience. I will commit to always:

BELIEVE IN THE MISSION

·       Committed to providing intentional opportunities through sport to positively impact people for life.

·       “Mission is about people, not projects.”

INVEST IN MY DEVELOPMENT

·       Continually pursue excellence in my coaching craft.

·       Be prepared in advance for all training sessions and games.

·       Actively seek mentorship and support.

·       Display growth mindset.

SWEEP THE SHEDS

·       Be humble. Never be too big to do the small things that need to be done.

·       Ensure field space is clean, all equipment is returned, and goals securely in place post-training and games.

CARE DEEPLY

·       Own the impact that I can have on my community.

·       Respect my players, parents, colleagues, game officials, opponents, staff, and volunteers at all times.

·       Be gracious in defeat and humble in victory.

·       Show empathy, inclusivity, and kindness to all.

COMMUNICATE WELL

·       Build relationships and instill trust through quality and valuable communication.

·       Speak and act with honesty and integrity.

·       Provide weekly email updates to players and families regarding both training and games.

·       Deliver individual and team feedback regularly through the season for player development. 

BE ACCOUNTABLE

·       Dress appropriately for all training and games within minimum standards of NC Fusion Coach Dress Code. 

·       Always conduct myself in a professional manner – no foul language or abusive conduct.

·       Honor my coaching commitment to the team for the full year.

·       Accept responsibility for my actions and results. Take ownership of my mistakes.

*Provide your players with a positive experience in line with our Core Values.

*Be prepared. Be professional. Be present in all that you do. Treat each session and game as opportunities to influence somebody.

*Provide timely player feedback based on the program’s schedule.

*Club-Wide emphasis on Togetherness:

·       All teams chant “NC…FUSION!”

·       Coach to Player and Player to Player handshakes/fist bumps BEFORE + AFTER training and games.
