Parent Code of Conduct

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS, GUARDIANS AND SPECTATORS

NC Fusion expects all parents and guardians to promote the positive aspects of sport by always demonstrating exemplary behavior. 

 

As a Parent / Guardian I will ENCOURAGE my child to:

·       INVEST IN THEIR DEVELOPMENT - Focus on their effort and participation more than their performance and results.

·       SWEEP THE SHEDS – Be humble and believe in their value as a member of the team and Club.

·       CARE DEEPLY - Show respect and understanding to their coach, players, opponents, match officials and facilities by demonstrating

        exemplary behavior.

·       COMMUNICATE WELL - Speak directly to the coach if they have questions or concerns. 

·       BE ACCOUNTABLE – Own the responsibility of his/her own personal behavior and actions.

 

As a Parent / Guardian I will REFRAIN from:

·       Exerting undue pressure and unrealistic expectations on my child.

·       Entering the field of play unless permitted to do so by the referee or coach.

·       Refrain from the use of foul, abusive, racial, or discriminatory language.

·       Engaging in inappropriate use of social media – this includes posting comments on social media sites that may cause harm to others or

       bring the club into disrepute.

·       Behaving irresponsibly by addressing a referee, opposing parent, player, or coach in an abusive manner.  Abusive Behavior includes, but is   

        not limited to, foul language, verbal or physical threats, aggressive body language, or providing excessive negative sideline instruction.

        NC Fusion operates under a Zero Tolerance Policy regarding inappropriate behavior at any NC Fusion activity: included but not limited to

        home/away games and events. 

 

As a Parent / Guardian I will ENSURE that I:

·       Focus and trust in the process over results.

·       Foster an empathetic, inclusive, and kind sideline environment.

·       Set an example for players by being gracious in defeat and humble in victory.

·       Collaborate with the staff to provide the best environment for my child.

·       Empower my child to make appropriate decisions related to their development and player pathway.

·       Deliver and collect my child to and from coaching sessions and matches punctually.

·       Inform the coach if my child has any health concerns or injuries.

·       Complete registration and payment of club fees according to schedule to ensure my child’s eligibility to participate.

·       Inform guest spectators of the codes of conduct.

 

Parents / guardians have the right to:

·       know their child is safe.

·       be informed of problems or concerns relating to their child.

·       be informed if their child is injured.

·       contact staff 24 hours after a game or training to discuss matters relating to your child.

 

Should you have a question or concern, please follow the lines of communication:

1.      Coach

2.     Appropriate Head of Coaching

3.     Head of Soccer

4.     Chief Experience Officer/Executive Director

5.     Board of Directors

 

I understand the consequences if I, or anyone associated with me and/or my child fail to stand by the commitments and expectations noted above can result in any or all of the following: disciplinary action by NC Fusion which may result in the temporary or permanent suspension of my attendance at NC Fusion events involving my child, and/or be subject to action by our governing bodies discipline and appeals procedures. In addition, removal from a game or training session will result in an immediate ban from all NC Fusion activities.
